Sintering Trolley Grate Material and Application

Grate bar is the main part of the sinter machine and is also a wearing part. Its service life directly affects the productivity of the sintering machine and the production cost of sintered ore. Due to the harsh working conditions, the grate bar needs to withstand drastic changes in temperature and has high wear and corrosion resistance requirements. The following are the details of the grate bar:

Working Environment and Requirements

  • Temperature change: Temperature during sintering: 800℃-1000℃; Temperature after unloading: rapidly drop to 100℃-300℃.
  • Operating media: CO₂, SO₂ and water vapour.
  • Abrasion and impact: withstand the impact and friction of the sintered ore.

Material Selection

Grate bars are usually cast in high-temperature nickel alloys to meet their high-temperature, highly abrasive and corrosive operating conditions.

Functional Description

Anti-bonding design: During the generation process of the sintering system, the unqualified particles selected from the sintered product ore are used as the bottom material of the grate to prevent bonding and paste from being generated by the direct contact with the mixture and to ensure the permeability of the sintered material layer, thus improving the yield, quality and economic and technical indexes of the sintered ore.

 

Belt Sintering Machine Trolley: As the main operating part of the sintering machine, the trolley forms a running rotary chain, which receives the sintering mixture in the upper horizontal section after preheating, sintering, cooling and turning, and finally forms a transmission cycle to complete the transport of sintering materials.

The role of the grate

Support and transport: The grate bars form a slotted space with the trolley tracks to hold and transport the mineral material. The upper surface of the grate is in contact with the mineral material and the upper ends are supported to ensure stability and durability of the grate.
